Kamishibaï

Le Kamishibaï existe au Japon depuis les années 1920.
C'est un cadre en bois dans lequel on fait glisser des planches illustrées qui racontent une histoire. Le ou les conteurs sont placés derrière le petit théatre.
Il s’agit pour le conteur de raconter une histoire illustrée en 12 planches ou plus qu’il fait coulisser dans un cadre au rythme de la narration.
Quelle joie de recevoir Bê-Mouton et Petit-Pingouin sous cette forme d'exploitation!

 Kamishibai was a dramatic/narrative art of storytelling practiced by a traveling showman on bicycle who visited the neighborhoods and villages.

The kamishibai man would announce his arrival in a particular place by clapping two pieces of wood together. All of the children in the area would gather around the wooden-framed stage mounted upon the handlebars of his bicycle and listen while the kamishibai man told a story which he illustrated with brightly-colored cards that he inserted in the wooden frame.

It is so exciting to have Two of my books available as kamishibaïs !
